It’s been 11 months since the Federalist Party was officially formed. We’ve voiced our concerns for the nation and the direction DC has taken us, a direction of big budgets and broken promises. Many people have echoed our message through social media, while others have helped to amplify the message on radio, podcasts, and through news releases. We are very grateful for all of the efforts that have been put into the Federalist Party in this, our first year.
We have grown in support and viability. And, as this is politics, we’ve been run through a gauntlet of attacks, deceptions, and lies while working towards building this authentic grassroots organization. Not a single one of us took on this venture with any illusion of ease or fairness. After all, our two-party system, by design, is as unfair as it gets. There will always be those who need to desperately cling to the status quo.
Throughout all of these travails, our core principles have remained intact. The Federalist Party was launched to be a beacon for limiting government, defending freedoms, and protecting life. As we approach the end of our first year, we do so knowing that these three principles must always be our driving force no matter what obstacles attempt to redirect or derail us.
Moving forward, we are filing as a proper 527 political organization. This will allow the Federalist Party to take advantage of federal tax exemptions and to fully participate in direct national political party actions. Thus far, we have operated strictly through volunteers; no one has received a penny in compensation and all moneys disbursed have been for direct party expenses. As Federalist Party needs grow, we will begin to take on compensated staff to expand the reach of our message and to consistently support the success of our candidates and organization.
From now until the end of the year, we are preparing for the 2018 stage of the party’s development. A high priority goal for us is keeping all of you informed of our progress. Based on comments we’ve received, communication is one area we intend to improve. Until we establish a full array of communication options, please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org with questions or feedback. We now have a new email monitoring system in place to increase our rate and timeliness of response. For updates and announcements, watch for our emails and join our conversations on Facebook and Twitter. We look forward to hearing from you.
